Abbie Crumpet was my heart dog. What I mean by that, is that she went straight to my heart and has never left, even though she is no longer with us. Abbie was our second Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I love all living animals, but from the moment that I saw my first Cavalier, I had come home. At age seven, Abbie began her fight with Mitra Valve Disorder, MVD. Unfortunately, many Cavaliers inherit this fatal disease. At nine, we were going to lose her within months, so we took the risk of an experimental surgery, that gave us two more years with her. She was the only survivor of the surgery. The wonderful surgeon is pictured below, with his beautiful wife. We became friends for a while, and they attended her tenth birthday, one year later! Abbie saw me through a lot, in my life. I miss her every single day.
