Today is Halloween. I have treasured memories of taking my twin boys trick or treating over the years. They were barely one month old on their very first Halloween. I propped them up on the living room sofa, in matching pumpkin costumes. The following year, they sat in a red wagon dressed up as Dalmatian Puppies. Then, they began to choose their own costumes, and always different from one another. I remember being so proud of them, walking up to neighbor's doors, and saying "trick or treat". Today, it is a very different story. My boys are now 13. They have different friends, and for Halloween tonight, they are in two different places. Neither would dare to be seen with mom and dad. I was left to take photos of our dogs, dressed in wonder woman and super dog costumes. The house is decorated, perhaps slightly less than in years past. Nevertheless, I love the feel of Halloween. It welcomes the holidays in.
My favorite seasons are upon us.
