We had a large family celebration back in September. Relatives from out of town arrived two days in advance. I hosted a lovely dinner in our garden. An hour before dinner was served, I put out some lovely, healthy appetizers to enjoy with Prosecco. The photo below, is a delicious mezze platter. Almost everything here, was purchased at a farmers market. Almost every city, now has days each week, where local farmers sell fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as specialties, that are native to their culture. the marinated artichokes, the olives, the tabouleh, and the stuffed grape leaves, are all from Baba Foods. They are a middle eastern foods company, that sells at farmer’s markets. I added some interesting hummus, grapes, assorted crackers and pita chips, as well as cheeses and cheese straws. Quite honestly, this is one of my favorite ways to eat! Add a little honey and dried figs and apricots, and try them on top of a slice of sharp cheese. The combination is delicious!
