I was born in 1963 in San Francisco, California. Dad was a Physician, a cardiac specialist. Mom, who was born in London, England, was a housewife and superior mommy! I was privileged to grow up in a beautiful area of San Francisco, called Sea Cliff. I had a view of the Pacific Ocean, the Golden Gate Bridge, and a tiny light house. The fog horns were my comfort. The thick fog that surrounded our home in the early morning hours and the early evenings was magical. David Bowie lived across the street, and years after we moved, Robin Williams, Sharon Stone, and Linda Ronstadt moved into the neighborhood. The T.V. show, "The Streets Of San Francisco" was often filming on our street. I attended the oldest private girls school in San Francisco, Sarah Dix Hamlin which is now known as The Hamlin School. I never thought of myself as privileged, but I now realize, that I was. My dream was to become a movie star and a singer. Probably, a very common dream for many little girls. I always had a bow in my hair, and a cute dress on. I was and have always been a girlie-girl. As a young girl I had the idea that it would be wonderful to marry the President of the U.S. because I was obsessed with Jackie Kennedy. If that did not work out I figured I could have happily married Prince Andrew, of England. I even wrote the Queen a letter to have me to Tea so that I could meet Andrew! But, my mother never mailed it. Alas, as all good fairy tales usually are not real, or come to an end. My parents divorced in 1977. The beautiful house was sold. My father moved to San Rafael, remarried a French woman, and never told me. My mother and I moved to Beverly Hills. My brother, who was eight years older, was attending U.C. Berkeley at the time. Mom chose Beverly Hills because I needed to attend public school for the first time, and that seemed like a nice safe spot to land. I began Beverly Hills High School in the fall of 1977. We found a brand new apartment to rent and chapter two of my life began. Since that time, I attended Pepperdine University in Malibu; I studied acting, creative writing and broadcast journalism. I worked as a make-up artist, actress, and ran the front office for an entertainment law firm in Century City for eleven years. I have dated famous men and gone to a few movie premiers, but until I married and began chapter 3 of my life. It was not until I gave birth to my twin boys, at 43 years of age, that I really knew what life was all about. I am now 56, living in Irvine and have been married for 16 years to an very nice man, who practices Law.
My life is truly nothing like what I had ever imagined that it would be. I am writing this blog to share my journey, insights on parenting, fashion entertaining and life lessons of the fun and not so much fun things that I have learned along the way.
